Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) is a standardized all India level management entrance test being administered since 2003 to facilitate Business Schools (B-Schools) to screen candidates for admission to AICTE approved MBA, PGDM and MCA programs in Bangalore and rest of Karnataka institutes.The exam is conducted once in a year by Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association (KPPGCA). The test is permitted by Government of Karnataka and is monitored in accordance with Supreme Court judgment in case no. Appeal (Civil) 5041 of 2005.

Q.How can I apply for KMAT 2016?

Registration for KMAT 2016 opens from July, 2016. Applying for KMAT 2016 is a simple process and can be completed online as well as offline. Visit the KMAT 2016 website http://www.kmatindia.com and go to Apply now. You may fill up the online registration form and make payment of Rs.1000/- online. Last date for Online registration has been extended to September 3rd midnight Fee for Offline Registration is also Rs. 1000/-. Demand Draft should be prepared in the name of KMAT 2016 and payable at Bangalore. Registration process with payment by DD closes on September 3rd. Your application form along with Demand Draft must reach The Secretary - Kmat 2016, Seshadripuram First Grade College, C A Site No 26 Yelahanka New town Bangalore 560064 by 11th September 2016

Q. How can I confirm that my KMAT 2016 registration form is duly submitted?

You will receive a unique ID after making payment and successful submission of registration form on your registered mail id. Those who submit offline registration form with demand draft will also receive the unique ID on their registered mail id.

Q. Which are the test centres for KMAT 2016?

KMAT 2016 will be conducted across the country in Bagalkot ,Bangalore, Belgaum, Bellary, Bijapur, Davangere, Gulbarga, Hubli, Mangalore, Mysore, Shimoga, Tumkur, Udupi. Test organizers reserve the right to withdraw any center or add any new center.

Q. Can I opt for more than 1 test city?

Yes, a choice of 2 test cities will be offered while completing the registration process.

Q. When do I get my Admit card for KMAT 2016?

All provisionally registered candidates can down load their Admit Card from KMAT 2016 website from September 9, 2016 onwards till the date of exam.. No separate Admit card will be issued. Activation of a test centre depends upon the minimum number of registration. In case of cancellation of a test centre, the candidate will be advised on his/her registered mail id about the allotment of other test centre. Candidate will have to paste his/her passport size photograph as uploaded on the registration form in the space provided on the Admit Card.

Test Structure

  • Paper Pen based test with 120 Multiple Choice Questions divided in three sections
  • No restriction to move to and fro among the sections

KMAT 2016 is proposed to be conducted with moderate level of difficulty without creating confusion in paper-pencil mode. The exam will have MCQs only. Section wise syllabus for KMAT 2016 is as follows-

Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension

English language ability would be tested through questions on Grammar, vocabulary, sentence completion, synonyms, antonyms, comprehension of passages etc. There would be questions on understanding of the contents of the passages and choice of appropriate words, phrases, expressions and similar language skills. This shall include the passages with questions based on their contents to test comprehension.

MBA/PGDM

Bachelors degree with minimum 3 years duration/ Masters degree examination of any recognised education body in Commerce, Management, Arts, Social Sciences, Engineering/ Technology or equivalent, and have secured at least 50% of marks in the aggregate (45% for SC/ST candidate). Candidates in their final year of bachelor’s degree are also eligible.

Conducted by Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association (KPPGCA), KMAT is the gateway to more than 169 + well known AICTE-approved University-affiliated B-schools in Bangalore and Karnataka. KMAT 2016 is an All India exam that will be held in more than 10 cities all across the country and is open to candidates from all parts of India and Abroad.

KMAT 2016, to be held on September 11th, is the last common entrance exam for MBA/PGDM Admissions 2016. It is a conventional Paper-Pencil Test with moderate difficulty level.

About UGET:

COMEDK is the “Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka” to determine the merit of students in an effective, fair, transparent and non-exploitative testing procedure and has been floated by the Associations of Medical, Dental and Engineering private colleges for merit determination of students seeking admissions to the Member Institution. Presently 14 Medical, 23 Dental and more than 150 Engineering colleges, who make available almost 20,000 seats, are affiliated to COMEDK and utilize its testing mechanism for effecting admission to UG Programme during the academic year 2016-2017. KPCF and KUPECA have entrusted COMEDK with the responsibility of conducting the entrance examination and seat selection process.

Candidates from all over the country can appear for the UGET 2016 entrance examination. The eligibility criterion for various programs has been as published by COMEDK in its Notification dated 05.12.2015 on its website www.comedk.org which is reproduced as under:-

For UG Medical and Dental Courses

a) The candidates should have qualified in second PUC or 10+2 or equivalent examination recognized by State / Central Government, the last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject.

b) The General Merit candidates must have passed these subjects (PCB) individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in PCB (40% in the case of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka State).

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates from all over the country can appear for the said entrance examination. The eligibility criteria for Post Graduate Degree / Diploma programs have been as published by COMEDK in its Notification dated 15.09.2015 and reiterated in this brochure notified on 09-11-2015 on its website www.comedk.org which are reproduced as under:-

A. Applicants must meet all the requirements stipulated by MCI / DCI from time to time

B. They should have successfully passed their MBBS / BDS from an Institution recognized by MCI / DCI.

C. They must have completed or be completing their internship by 30th April 2016 at the latest

D. The minimum percentage of marks in the COMEDK PGET – 2016 shall be 50% for General Merit candidates and 40% for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe (All India) and Other Backward Classes belonging to Karnataka State.

E. They should have obtained permanent registration with the MCI / DCI or any of the State Medical / Dental Council.

Candidates who are unacceptable:

1) Candidates already holding a PG Degree in any specialty.

2) Candidates who are pursuing a PG Degree / Diploma in any clinical specialty after securing the seat through COMEDK in the earlier years.

3) Candidates having selected a seat earlier through COMEDK and failed to join the college so selected or failed to surrender the said seat at the COMEDK level or having joined the college failed to pursue the course.

4) Candidates who have been debarred by COMEDK during the previous years for any examination malpractice
